The Woman at the Well

I'm sitting at home thinking about the woman at the well. Throughout history it seem to me that she's gotten a bad rap. Many have associated her with the woman caught in adultery or a woman of ill repute. I think those are unfair labels. Unfair because Jesus didn't send her away saying "go and sin no more." He didn't. In fact she was so touched by her encounter with him that she left his company to evangelize and tell others that she met the messiah.

I can't help but thinking about how sometimes we think that we're not worthy enough for Jesus love and grace ... but keep in mind he came for everyone the meek and the lowly, the foreigner and native and even you and me.

Spring Break 2014

We had an awesome time in California over Spring Break! Thanks for the time off and thanks for all your prayers for our safe travel. In addition to spending time with relatives we were able to spend time at a couple of California's more desired location. In fact we spent at day at Disneyland and a day at the beach. The 6th day of Christmas

Thanks to everyone who helped me enjoy a really holy and special Christmas. I can't say thank you enough for all the hard work that it took to prepare our church for the Feast of the Nativity! Everyone played such a crucial role ... Thank you!

My apologies to everyone for being so bad about keeping this blogspot up to date. It seems that my best intentions to post with regularity on the Rector's page have yet again fallen short. With our new program year upon us I will try to material and news with greater regularity.

In turning over this new leaf let me begin by telling everyone about our adult education offering for this Fall. During the 9:00am Education hour in the Parish Hall I will be offering a course called Modern Parables. This course subtititled "Living in the Kingdom of God," is a video series which features short (15 - 20 minute) video adaptions of some of the classic parables of the New Testament. Along with the video are questions for discussion and suggestions for outside reading. Each class is designed to be 45 - 50 minutes in length. I've heard nothing but good reviews regarding this series! Try to join us at 9am in the parish hall beginning on September 8.
